Introduction to the Canvas LMS
This course is designed to help teachers learn
the district-wide Canvas Learning Management System (LMS). Teachers will
participate in the LMS as a student as well as an instructor. Teachers will be
required to create a learning module, using the course tools while applying
best practices for online learning and design.
Completed: December 11, 2013 - Instructor: Neal Shebeck
Canvas is a learning management system (LMS) that competes with other LMS such as Blackboard, Moodle, and others. Canvas is a cloud-based instructional tool that allows students to learn content, permit communication between teacher-student students-student and teacher-parent, and provide immediate feedback on student assessments. The nice thing about this class was the opportunity for students to create their own online course using the E-CLASS model.
